Free workshops and seminars can help you get your new business off to a good start.  Other resources available in our offices, or through our extensive links page on this site can help you as you go forward to prepare your business plan, identify funding sources, develop a marketing plan and expand your business.

Training

For minimal registration fees (or free, in many cases), SBDC centers also offer workshops, seminars and training courses on topics related to small businesses, taught by faculty, staff and professionals in industry and government.  

The Winthrop SBDC in Rock Hill offers ten free “How to Start a Small Business” workshops per year, and sponsors two “IRS Tax Workshop” seminars for small business owners in April and October of each year. Occasional other workshops are also scheduled. Please check our Calendar for dates of these events.  Online pre-registration is also available for your convenience.

The Winthrop Region’s Florence Area and Coastal Area SBDCs offer their own workshops.  Please click on their web pages to the left, to see their event calendars.
