Our Unique Web Site Workshop ....
“Getting Your Business Online”
Two sessions and more of some very hands-on training and service!
Session I -- This workshop teaches you how to inexpensively get your small business online ..... helping you understand what you need .... how to get it .... where to find it ..... in language you can understand. We'll walk you through the initial planning stage, help you understand what YOUR web site needs to look like and sound like, beyond its design. We’ll teach you how to choose a domain name for your web site (and the perfect domain name for your business web site isn’t necessarily your business name!) Then we send you home with “homework” that one of our workshop graduates described as “so much fun!”
Session II -- We'll engage you in a creative planning and brainstorming session with other entrepreneurs taking the same workshop. You’ll be able to work through your company's needs for its web site presence and what others need and want to know about your business. You’ll get suggestions and valuable ideas for how to continue with your planning process.
and Finally ..... Your Web Site Comes Alive! -- When you've completed "Getting Your Business Online," you'll not only have a new understanding of how web sites work and how they get found by people searching for YOU, but we will also build you a billboard web site to help people find your business via the Internet (which is really the new Yellow Pages!).
If you’re inclined to post “news” or "Events and Sales" information on a regular basis, we can also link your page to a blog that you can update yourself with specials, coupons, etc., and even a web site calendar if you like. Cost for this 2-session workshop and the creation of your site: $200 total (plus the cost of buying your domain name and hosting the site -- totaling approximately $62 per year, which does NOT go to us. We will help you through that purchase however, to make sure you don’t buy anything you don’t need.)
Probably this web site will not serve you forever .... it’s a beginning site .... it’s a way to let people find you and let your business grow right here at home. Later on you may decide you want to sell products from your site or want more pages on your site and decide that you want to pay a webmaster to build a larger site with sales capability. If that’s the case and you’re better prepared at that time to pay those design and monthly update fees, you’ll have another “PLUS” to work with -- an understanding of what makes a site work, how it gets found, and what you want. That will help you communicate better with your web designer. Remember, it takes more than “pretty” to make a web site work for you. Here are some of the sites we’ve put up for our workshop participants, made to coordinate with their printed materials, their own photos, etc. Every effort is made to create a site in keeping with the way a client wants their business to be portrayed, keeping the importance of search eng

Client comments:
“The web design course has been one of the best things to happen to me in a long time to generate business for my picture frame shop. I had considered using generic templates and design my own web page. With Carol's advice and information, I now realize that would have given me a fairly worthless web page, as I did not have any idea what makes a good page and what words to include on the site to stand out in Google searching. With her help in designing my web site, when I search for framing in Winston-Salem , my site always shows up on page one of the searches. With help from the other classmates, I even wound up changing the name of my store to rave reviews from marketing people in W-S. The actual course taught me a lot about web page design that I would never have known and the one on one consultation gave me a great web page that friends of mine thought was great. Her on going help in getting everything going, especially with the name change, is very much appreciated.” -- Ed Koos, Center City Frame Gallery
“I absolutely love it. You don't have to make any changes. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” A.B.
